Skyzoo, Torae & !llmind Are “Barrel Brothers” (Listen & Download)

I know this one's been out for a couple days, which in hip-hop blog time might as well be 57 years, but I somehow managed to miss Skyzoo's dope new collab banger with Torae, "Barrel Brothers", the first time around, so just in case there were some other folks out there who were also caught napping through the blast, here we go...

For my money, Skyzoo and Torae are two of the more underrated emcees in the game, as anyone who's ever seen either dude live undoubtedly agrees, so right off the bat any record featuring the two heavyweights going back and forth was going to get spins in the Nathan S. household. Of course it also helps that producer !llmind, who's almost working exclusively with Sky these days, predictably turned out yet another head nodding headphone banger.

"Dirty beats under intricate poems, while the rest of 'em makin records like they Winston Jerome." Yup, that pretty much sums it up right there. Nothing will ever top the original "Barrel Brothers", but this is as close as you're ever going to get.
