Electronic music trendsetter Sharam has definitely gone outside the box for his latest track "She Came Along", a hip-hop based joint that samples revered country singer Patsy Cline, features stoner rap god Kid Cudi and looks like an old-school Western. I guarantee you this is not something you see everyday.
The Refined Take:
1) I'm realizing the western meets hip-hop market is really undeserved. This video and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's "Ghetto Cowboy" aside I really can't think of any other examples. I was interviewing Ict-T once and he pointed out that both hip-hop and country singers like guns, big cars, women and expensive footwear. Great point. I really think the country meets hip-hop angle is ripe for the taking. someone jump on this.
2) Kid Cudi really picks up the pace on his verses, sort of reminiscent of his work on "Poker Face." Another enjoyable effort from Cudi. Well done sir, well done.
3) There's chick fights, and then there's chick gun fights. It really doesn't get any better than this, especially when one of them kind of looks like Rosario Dawson.
