Although Philly singer
Santigold is in the studio working on her upcoming album the singer has still taken time to work on other projects. One project in particular is a collaboration between Santigold and skate brand
Vans on a new sneaker.
“With her
eclectic sound, incredible sense of style and love for Vans, it was too good to be true when Vans and Santigold joined forces for a special February 2011 shoe release,” read a press release announcing the collaboration. “Santigold teamed up with Vans designers to create a shoe of her very own.”
The sneaker takes its cue from the Vans’ Tosha Hi, but features a design from Santigold herself. The full-grain leather, all black sneaker features a gold chain accent in the back and a gold “SG” pin on the tongue of the shoe which is designed by designer Jules Kim.
For those familiar with Santigold’s 80’s, new wave style the Tosha Hi is very reminiscent of the singer’s unique sense of fashion. Overall the Santigold Tosha Hi is a pretty basic sneaker, but what really sets it apart are the gold accents, the gold pin and chain.
The Vans/Santigold Tosha Hi will be available in stores beginning on Tuesday, February 1. A price has yet to be released.
