Rick Ross Eats It Onstage (Video)

Video of the portly Rick Ross taking a sizable spill at a recent show has been making the rounds this morning, and as much as I'd like to believe I'm above such juvenile humor, I'm not. Not even remotely. There's not much more I can say unless you've peeped the video. Enjoy:

The Refined Take

1) Let's get semi-quasi deep for a moment. Why is it so funny to watch people eat it? I submit it's because falling is the ultimate humiliation. No matter how cool you think you are, no one looks cool when they take a spill off a stage. And for a rapper whose entire image is built around a mafia don millionaire persona, watching Ricky eat it is a hilarious reminder that he's actually human.
2) In his defense, that stage is small, and the stairway he fell into is pretty dark. Damn, I mean they couldn't have put some reflective tape around the stairs? Come on, they couldn't have at least dropped some Lite-Brights that read "Caution"? What's a man got to do to get a warning he's about to fall down some stairs around here?
3) We all know Rick Ross is a large man, but the true dimensions of his enormity doesn't really hit you until you watch this video. The man falls down and can...not...get...up. His hype man in the black shirt really only manages to make things worse, trying to pick him up via some sort of Heimlich maneuver technique is just not going to work. It's not. You get the feeling that if Ross fell down on his back and no one was around to roll him over, he'd just be stuck there, like a large turtle or a beached manatee.

maybe this will teach rappers not to invite 300 of their friends on stage.

I am still laughing as I type this comment. To quote an old Jewish grandmother, "Oy Vey."

@Almost Forgotten For sure. There's definitely a moment where he seriously considers just doing the rest of the show sitting down.
