Rapsody, Laws & King Mez Stake Their Claim on “Top Five” Status (Listen & Download)

I think Rapsody is the shit, and until she proves me otherwise I'm gonna keep posting her music. Would I call her "Top Five" dead or alive? Of course not, but she's absolutely in the conversation for a few top five lists. Forget the vaguely insulting best female emcee list, she's a serious contender for "Top Five Young Emcees Making Classic Style Hip-Hop". Seriously. Just take a listen to previous release "Out Tha Trunk" and this new single.

Of course it doesn't hurt that the beat, by AMP, has that old school Primo sound, and that she's being mentored by 9th Wonder, or that she makes sure to include "Star Wars" references in everything she does (peep the artwork, and her "Return of the B-Girl" album"). I'm so stoked, as we'd say out here in Cali, to drop her new album, "Thank H.E.R.", via the mothership on June 21.
