I think I speak for RefinedHype Nation when I say that battle rap's golden days feel like they took place a long, long time ago. Blame it on the death of the "freestyle" and an age where reading off your Blackberry constitutes going off the dome. And when Caninbus pulled out the notepad? That felt like the nail in the coffin.

But the truth is that while things might not be as dope as the good ol' days, the occasional must watch battle still takes place, and enough people have been talking about Lux and Calicoe's recent throwdown that it's even reached the ears of those who don't follow the battle scene.

There's enough quotables in here to fill a notepad. Lux' closing verse would have First 48ed almost anyone - when they're good, is there anything better than a dope battle? Enjoy.

UPDATE: Miss Info also pointed out that Murda Mook vs. Iron Solomon was pretty damn good too. Bonus battle!
