I was going to start off this post with some sort of "that title's actually a reference to the rappers involved running speed" but I have too much respect for the hip-hop legends (and
Rick Ross) involved to do something so corny. Instead let's just get right into the new music that is
Raekwon, Ricky Rozay and
Ghostface Killah spitting over "
Molasses".
With Xtreme manning the boards and creating a horn influenced, old school feeling, appropriately slow beat The Chef does exactly what we'd expect from him (minus the hilarious ad-libs we heard yesterday), I have to say the Bawse holds his own (although that Twitter thug line is painful) and Ghost proves yet again why he's one of my favorite emcees ever - who else would kick off a verse with "We in the back roastin marshmallows"? That was a rhetorical question - no one. Not an instant classic, but you can't go wrong with some "Molasses" in the morning.
Rae’s upcoming album, "Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang", is due out March 8. Support a hip-hop legend. (Side note: they guest on each others tracks constantly - why not a full collab album between Rae and Ghost? I'm just saying, think it over guys.)
