Right About Now…..What’s up Refined Hype!! This is Rock City checking in with the first of our brand new weekly column on RefinedHype.com. If you aren’t familiar with us, Rock City is Theron aka Da Spokesman and Timothy aka Don’t Talk Much and we are recording artists signed to Kon Live/Interscope. Check in with us every week as we share our experiences recording, writing, performing and working towards the release of our debut album "Wake The Neighbors."

In the past year, we became frustrated with the fact that despite our hard work and proven track record (we have written hits for artists like The Pussycat Dolls, Usher, Akon and Mario), our label wouldn’t give us a release date for the album. Then when we were on the BET Black College Tour, fans kept coming up to us left and right, telling us we needed to Put The Fucking Album Out and from there the PTFAO campaign was born. We started flooding the internet with music and putting out mixtape after mixtape for our fans. Every day, more and more people are coming up to us, recognizing us and telling us to Put The Fucking Album Out so thank you and let’s keep the movement going!!!

To fill you in on what we’ve been up to, we spent the past few weeks in Los Angeles working on our album. We did a few listening sessions for "Wake The Neighbors" and got the feedback of our friends. We spent our days LOCKED in the studio!! We didn’t even see the family we have out there, just stayed in the lab working on the album and trying to get new material to y’all. While we were out there we also had a great meeting with the Universal TV and Film department about trying to get our music included in movies and on TV shows. We are HUGE movies fans and try to see pretty much everything that comes out so this would be a very cool moment for us if everything works out.

This past week we got to work on some other artists projects. We jumped in the studio with some Atlantic Records A&R reps and started putting together some tracks for upcoming albums from Plies, Flo’Rida and Pleasure P. We did a few full joints, a lot of hooks and for Pleasure P, just started tossing around a few ideas and working on some stuff for him. Hopefully they all like what we came up with!!

After we left the studio we decided it was time for a little fun so we went shopping. We are sneaker ADDICTS so we picked up a few pairs of kicks, a dope Kid Robot backpack and a few jackets.

After we went shopping it was time to get back to work. Remember at the end of the day we make music for y’all, not for ourselves, we make music for the fans not for the label, music for the fans not for the industry and we are going to continue to do that until y’all tell us to stop!!

That catches us up for this week but definitely tune in next week to see what we are up to, who we have been working with and how we are working to PUT THE FUCKING ALBUM OUT!!!!
