Rick Ross & Friends Release A Kendrick Lamar-less “Power Circle” Video (Video Breakdown)

Roughly two weeks after Maybach Music Group released their "my crew is cooler than your crew (even if we have to recruit another label's rapper)" track "Power Circle" we've been hit with a music video for the song. Even though the video is almost 10 minutes long the only remarkable thing is the miraculous way in which Gunplay's hair seems to float above his shoulder. Oh, and there's no Kendrick Lamar appearance either.

0:00 – Nine minutes and 26 seconds? Wow. Sounds like we’re in for a Maybach Music Group mini-adventure.

0:22 – It’s always the most rotund rappers who insist on not wearing t-shirts.

0:43 – For all you mathematicians out there the square root of a corrections officer is also Rick Ross.

0:53 – Something tells me we’re going to see enough Reebok in this video to furnish an entire Foot Locker store.

1:21 – Looking at Gunplay makes me wish that “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy” was still on TV. Those guys could probably work wonders with that hair and tough guy persona.

1:34 – “Where yo lobster, where yo sea bass?” I must add this to my list of Rap Lines To Recite To Strangers.

1:40 – I wish Gunplay would stop “ackin” like “acting” is the hardest word in the English language to pronounce correctly.

2:44 – Ahh Stalley, the talented stepchild of Maybach Music.

3:02 – Take away Stalley’s monstrous beard and he magically turns into Common.

3:54 - *Fast-forwards to 5:30 mark.*

5:30 – Look it’s just too early in the week for Wale and his meticulously styled dreadlocks.

6:32 - There sure is a lot of high-end food references in this song.

6:57 - While I personally like the addition of Kendrick Lamar on “Power Circle” it’s a move that doesn’t seem to make much sense. It seems to me like “Power Circle” was meant to be a sort of bragging song for MMG so why in the hell would you recruit a rapper who can easily out rap everyone? It kinda kills the whole bragging part.

7:01 – And I don’t see Kendrick Lamar…wack sauce.

8:16 – That was some serious cheek to cheek action. No pause.
