Decatur’s Own Playboy Tre Shares His Top Five Drink Recipes (Exclusive Interview)

With a new mixtape out entitled "Last Call" and a previous mixtape by the name of "Liquor Store Mascot", I think it’s safe to say that Atlanta rapper Playboy Tre is quite the alcohol enthusiast. While Playboy Tre is quite well-known for his knack for storytelling in his music we figured we’d hit up Tre for something a little different. Cocktails anyone? From the crunk-enhancing “Georgia Durt” to the possibly hazardous “Lamont Jefferson” check out a few of Playboy Tre’s favorite drink recipes.

The Georgia Durt – “This is my favorite drink of all. Remy Vsop mixed with cranberry juice and a splash of Red Bull. I named this drink The Georgia Durt because of the muddy color it takes on when you mix Remy Martin with a little cranberry. After that, throw in a splash of Red Bull to give it that extra kick and crunkness [that] GA is known for. Trust me you'll love it! ‘Yeeeeeeeeeeahhhhhhh!’”

The Eastside Candy Apple – “This is a low budget, get your lady good and tipsy drink. It's not the ‘Candy Apple Martini’ but it gets the job done just the same. You make it with 99 Apples or Smirnoff Apple Vodka mixed with Cran-Grape juice. This is a female favorite that a guy can also enjoy. I stumbled across this drink because one night I only had some cheap McCormick apple vodka, a corner of Cran-Grape juice and a female friend of mine wanted a drink. I fixed it for her and to my surprise and extreme joy she loved it!!! After that I named it, stepped up the quality of apple vodka to make it really taste good and the ‘Eastside Candy Apple’ was born.”

The Patron Racer – “This is basically Patron shots as we know them but with a little twist. Most people take shots of Patron with salt and lime but this trick will help those who hate the bitter after taste finally enjoy Patron the way us heavy drinkers do. What you need to do is get a Patron shot chilled. Then get a shot of OJ (Orange Juice) to the slow readers, of equal proportion. Take the Patron shot then immediately race the OJ behind it. The sweet taste of the orange juice will cut down on the harshness of the Patron and before you know it you will be ordering 4 more. Word to the wise tho people. If you do order 4 more please don't drive!!! And you also may run the risk of blacking out. But hey like some Frat dudes once told me, what's the point of a good party if you can't black out and not remember it!”

The Lamont Jefferson – “PLEASE BEWARE!!!! This is a drink for heavy drinkers only!!! My dawg Chris came up with this drink on tour and I named it in an attempt to help promote interracial drinking. What is interracial drinking you ask? It's when you are not afraid to go from dark liquor to white liquor in the same night. Some frown upon this type of activity but not only do we endorse it, we love it. At the same time it does get you F'D up quick. That's why I wrote please Bbeware in the beginning. To make the ‘Lamont Jefferson’ you mix 25% Goose, 25% Hennessy and 50% Coke. Add ice, stir very well and then have at it. Like I said before it’s not a drink to play with so approach with caution!!!”

The Jack Of All Trades – “I love this drink because it's really just shots of Jack Daniels but done in a way anybody can enjoy it. What you wanna do here is buy a 5th of Jack Daniels, 1 lime squeeze and you are set for the night. Open the JD pour in the lime squeeze then place it in the freezer. Let it sit for no more than 2 hrs and it’s ready. Serve it in shots only. Cold and straight out of the freezer. The taste of the lime mixes with the Jack Daniels very well. Word to the wise though, you must finish it the same night you make it or the sugar in the lime squeeze will set at the bottom of the liquor bottle and you don't want that. If you're worried about will ladies like it or hate it don't stress. A female introduced this drink to me so they'll love it too. I guess that's why we call it ‘Jack of All Trades’ cause any and everybody can enjoy it.”
