Joell Ortiz’ Verse On Novel’s “Body Down Pt. 2” Is About As Real As It Gets (Listen & Download)

Rapper Joell Ortiz and singer/songwriter Novel have teamed up yet again for "Body Down Pt. 2" a song that serves as somewhat of a sequel to Novel's "Grant Me Serenity" track "Body Down." "Body Down Pt. 2" sticks with the production from the original song and still features English singer Jack Peñate on the chorus, but also consists of two very intense verses from Joell Ortiz.

Each verse from Ortiz tells two different, but very tragic stories. Ortiz has always been good at storytelling in his music, but unlike other artists he doesn't sugarcoat anything nor does he shy away from speaking on reality no matter how awful it might be. And Ortiz does just that on "Body Down Pt. 2," he speaks on drug addiction, prostitution, incest, and more. The chorus is a little different because it features a sample from singer Jack Peñate's song of the same name as well as a chorus from Novel, but regardless it still works well around Ortiz' verses.
