February 10 marked the death of legendary and visionary producer J. Dilla, and in memorial artists and producer across the country have been paying tribute to a man who, even Kanye admits, was the greatest producer of all time. In fact, so much dope Dilla related material has been piling up that I'm turning RefinedHype completely over to the man for the next few hours, dropping a giant block of Dilla on your collective heads.
First up we have Nottz, the always street ready producer whose trying to make the now inevitable producer-rapper transition, and he's starting off with some audio and visuals for his new single "Shine So Brite" a thickly sampled track that he's dedicating to Dilla's memory. I'm not sold on Nottz rhyme skills, but I could bump this instrumental all day, and in the spirit of James Dewitt Yancey, I'm turning up the volume and getting the f**k down. "Shine So Brite" is off Nottz' upcoming album "You Need This Music", dropping soon.
