You’d be hard pressed to find a Hip Hop fan that isn’t a fan of A Tribe Called Quest and fly kicks.
Nike must be on to this because in the near feature they’ll be releasing a pair of
SB Blazer’s inspired by the cover art to A Tribe Called Quest’s classic album "The Low End Theory".
The folks over at
SneakerNews.com were able to obtain pictures of the yet to be released SB Blazer’s and it looks like for the most part Nike will be using the color scheme from the album for the sneaker. Now when a sneaker company announces that they’ll be releasing a new sneaker inspired by the cover art to a classic Hip Hop album most of us probably roll our eyes, shake our head, release a slew of LOL’s, etc. But surprisingly, from the looks of it it appears that the SB “Low End Theory” might be a major hit for Nike. The upper part of the sneaker is black and seems to consist of a similar pattern from the album cover. The SB Blazer also borrows "The Low End Theory"s vibrant red and green color scheme.
The “Low End Theory” SB Blazer isn’t overwhelming or cheesy. Nike didn’t try to incorporate every aspect of The Low End Theory cover art into their sneaker so the outcome is a completely wearable sneaker that pays respect to Tribe’s 1991 album.
Nike has yet to announce a release date or price for the “Low End Theory” Nike SB Blazer.
