In a way it feels like longer than two decades since Nas broke though with his debut "NY State of Mind" album. Both hip-hop and the world have changed so much since then it feels like 50 years, but nope, it was almost 20 years ago that Nasir Jones first said, "I don't sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death".

And now, against all odds, Nas is back to sounding as good as ever. New single "Accidental Murderers" features some of that old school storytelling rap that only Nas can deliver, all over a quality beat (which is Nas' weak suit). And while Rick Ross proves that he's nowhere near the emcee Nas is - the Bawse doesn't even try to get narrative - he's still solid.

I don't say this easily, but Nastradumus' "The Good Life" is a must cop when it drops on July 17. Until then, enjoy:
