We don't hear from DMV emcee and My City vetMuggsy Malone often - he's in the quality over quantity camp - but when we do the results are usually raw, uncut dopeness. Fresh off dropping "32 Bars of Truth", Muggsy's re-uping with his brand new joint "One Thousand Percent". Take that all you rappers who think giving 110% is working hard.
This isn't your usual rappity rap flow over a soul sample beat. By the time Muggsy's done he's referenced everyone from David Koresh to the Stone Temple Pilots to Moses. Word. I'm officially stoked to hear both his upcoming album, Dedication, Determination & Discipline, dropping in 2012, and his The Consistency mixtape, coming soon.
As an added bonus that Drum Machine beat's so dope I had to track down the original: Los' "Vintage Rolls Royce Interior". I'd never heard Los before, but I'm digging him too. It's played out to do some "who did it best?" comparison, and Muggsy's style (high caliber) and Los' style (extra punchline) are too different to really make it work, so let's just dig two emcees going in over a stellar beat.
Stream and direct download of "One Thousand Percent" is below the video. Enjoy.
