Muggsy Malone Drops Aptly-Titled “32 Bars of Truth” (Listen & Download)

It's been a long, long time since we'd heard from Muggsy Malone. In fact, the last time the My City vet was on our pages was more than a year ago (it's true). So I'll admit that I was a little surprised to see a new cut from the DMV emcee pop up in my inbox, but not at all surprised to discover that it's dope.

True to its name, "32 Bars of Truth" is nothing but 2:30 of straight rhymes. No gimmicks, no hooks, just some real (and I mean really real) rap: I mean, not only does the man drop a hell of a ?uestlove/Roots reference, along with a "Bagger Vance" punchline, he becomes quite possibly the first rapper in history to use the word "doppleganger" correctly in a line. Hells yeah.

Muggsy promises his long-awaited album is coming soon, let's hope that's true.
