Truth be told, I never paid that much attention to Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire. When he started getting some hype around early 2011 for "Huzzah" the jaded (aka experienced) part of me felt like he'd be just another dude who caught a viral wave and then would inevitably fade.

So while this new Closed Sessions song and mini-doc for "Lost in Transition" doesn't necessarily change my mind, it does make me appreciate the man. Like so many, he's really just a dude who struggling to turn those YouTube views and "buzz" into an actual career. As mush as "Transition" is a song, it's also in many ways the story of hip-hop in 2012.

So props to RubyHornet for telling that story, and on the real, I hope eXquire manages to find his lane and make it work. At the very least if he continues to make noteworthy music I'll get to write "fuck" a lot, and I think RefinedHype regulars all know how much I enjoy f-bombs.
