Mayer Hawthorne “Held the Hand” of the Devil (Listen & Download)

Maybe it's because it's an unusually cloudy day in L.A., or maybe I've got a contact high from just listening to that new Kid Cudi track, or maybe I just need something completely different after Drakeapalooza, but I'm feeling laid back today, and that's why I'm really digging Mayer Hawthorne's new track "Held the Hand", a remarkably well done cover of Daniel Johston's beautifully disturbing track of the same name.

The track's short, but for reason I can't stop playing it. It's like I'm hypnotized. There's just something inexplicably dope about "Held the Hand". I also love the fact that people see the song title and assume it's a love ballad, not knowing that the hand he's holding belongs to the devil.

Sorry, did I get a little serious on y'all? Don't worry, I'll be sure to get back to making Yung Berg/Gary Coleman jokes shortly.
