Pittsburgh rapper
Mac Miller kept to his Twitter promise this week by releasing yet another new track after he gained an extra 100,000 followers. For this latest song Miller pays ode to the pimptastic Willie D from the 1974 flick "Willie Dynamite." I love the fact that on
"Willie Dynamite" and on most of Miller's songs he tends to steer clear of any production that sounds too modern. Most of his beats usually have a 90's sound to it, but sometimes he takes the sound even further back.
Miller does his thing on "Willie Dynamite," but I do feel that his flow wasn't quite on track with the beat. If he had slowed down a bit it would have been perfect. And I have to add that I'm also a little disappointed that the cover art to "Willie Dynamite" doesn't consist of Miller sporting a pimp costume from Party City. That would have easily made my day.
