I've laid out the pro and anti
Mac Miller arguments so completely over the last couple months that I almost didn't want to post "
Death of the Emcee" - I know I'm gonna get sucked into the same debate I've already had approximately eleventy-billion times. But I gotta give RefinedHype Nation what they want, and what they want is to either love or hate Mac Miller, so let's do this damn thing.....
Nathan S.'s stance on Mac Miller in bullet point form (and in the third person):
* He's not an especially great emcee.
* He's white and from the suburbs and he raps about being white and from the suburbs. What's wrong with that.
* Regardless of your thoughts on his music, he's doing great things for indie hip-hop.
* If a white teenage rapper's going to be huge, isn't that white teenage rapper doing records like "Death of the Emcee" really your best case scenario?
I won't pretend like I'm going to change anyone's mind on this. Like Nicki Minaj and Pepsi vs. Coke, Mac Miller is one of those things where people pick sides on, build a bunker and start lobbing grenades at the other side. "Death of an Emcee"s gonna be ammunition for you either way - have at it people.
p.s. - Off Mr. Peter Parker and Whoo Kid's "FratRap" mixtape, coming before "Detox", for those who care.
