Oh those dirty motherf**king backstabbers. They smile in your face, but as soon as your back's turned...unfortunately up-and-coming Boston-based emcee M-Dot knows only too well about the nefarious ways of others, and he's got the video to prove it. "Backstabbers" is more than a video, it's a movement, and if you you're not down to join, you're probably a backstabber yourself. I'm just saying, take a long look in the mirror.
The Refined Take:
1) On a completely personal level: "Backstabber" was disappointingly filmed in L.A., a city I now live in after being raised in Boston. I already see plenty of L.A. based action everyday - wouldn't it have been too much to ask to film a video in Beantown? A couple shots of M-Dot rhyming outside Fenway would make my day. I'm just saying, consider if for the next time around guys.
2) Why is it that the most beautiful women always stab you in the back the hardest. And no, of course I'm not talking about you honey. (Just in case the fiancee's reading this.)
3) I take it back - M-Dot does spend a significant amount of time rocking a "Entering Lowell" shirt. Way to represent for MA my man. Well done.

5) M-Dot's "Backstabbers" is off his upcoming album "M.usically D.riven O.ver T.ime", set to drop soon on EMS Productions and featuring appearances from Masta Ace, Big Shug, Edo G, Akrobatik, Sha Stimuli, Krumbsnatcha, Singapore Kane & more. With production by 7L of 7L & Estoteric, DC The Midi Alien, D-Sharp, Snowgoons, Explizit One, DJ John Maron, Kore, Kenshin & more. Catch all that? Yeah, that's a lot of lyrical firepower right there.
