In the wake of the devastation of Haiti people the world over have leapt at the chance to help however they can, including some of music's biggest talents, including
Lupe Fiasco. On the new aptly-titled track "
Resurrection", Lupe,
Kenna and Linkin Park's
Mike Shinoda have teamed up for a cut that's as inspiring as it is dope.
On a purely musical level,
unlike Weezy I don't mind when Lupe does a little singing, as long as he drops some rhymes as well, as he does so aptly here. Overall "Resurrection" manages to be uplifting without slipping into cliche, which is far from easy. Props to Lupe, Kenna and Mike.
More importantly, "Resurrection" is off Music for Relief's "
Download to Donate" album, sponsored by the United Nations and Habitat for Humanity, with all proceeds going to aide Haiti. For more on "Download to Donate"
