Lupe Fiasco Freestyles Over Dirty Money’s “Angels (Remix)” (Listen & Download)

Coincidence or not, ever since MTV left Lupe off it's "Hottest MCs" list the chcago wonder has been on a tear, dropping some straight fire (both literally and figuratively) for the past four weeks. In fact he's amassed so much material he's promised to drop a mixtape, titled "Enemy of the State: A Love Story" on Thanksgiving. Well we can all give thanks a couple days early, because Lupe's released the first track off that mixtape, a freestyle over Dirty Money's "Angels (Remix)".

First, this track provides some definitive evidence to my "every Diddy track would be better if Diddy wasn't on it" hypothesis, which is quickly becoming a theory (although here Diddy's atrocious, "Lock Lockdown" wanna-be, auto-tunes singing is still present). Second, Lupe's always been ill, but the man's almost out of his mind lately. Here he drops two pistachios verses over Rob Holladay's appropriately dirty beat, spitting lines like: "I see, diamond flooded demons, Lamborghini angels, halos down with the doors flappin when they came through, windows up, system bumpin you the one they sing to." Um, yeah, that's so dope the DEA's going to confiscate it.
