If you’ve seen one lookbook you’ve seen them all. That’s the motto I adopted last year after watching lookbook after lookbook feature either hipster’s roaming around New York City, partying on a yacht, or wreaking havoc in a skate park somewhere. But I’m going to at least try to keep a partially open mind when it comes to this year’s lookbooks.
Although it’s cold as all hell here in the South and elsewhere, LRG has just released their spring 2011 lookbook. Thankfully, LRG didn’t choose to take a bunch of rappers to Miami for a photo shoot but instead opted for something a bit rugged. While the rugged approach isn’t completely new it is somewhat of a relief to see them not take the easy, expected route. We could use a little less B-roll footage of birds, rustic-looking mailboxes, and enchanting sea cliffs though.
LRG’s spring 2011 video lookbook features 9th Wonder, The Kid Daytona, and Aloe Blacc and appears to be filmed somewhere in Washington state. As far as the collection is concerned it consists of a combination of shorts, pants, sweaters, jackets, and more. In my opinion the collection looks a bit more preppy than previous collections. I personally like the preppy look so I’m not mad at that. You’ve got a few cardigans, collared shirts, and even some kind of pale yellow blazer thrown in the mix. It’s 2011 and I think it’s about time guys stop looking like extras in a Wu-Tang video so thanks for that LRG.
