I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again and again and again, but certain brands really need to stay out of the sneaker world. The brand I’m referring to today is none other than Louis Vuitton. Earlier this month the prestigious brand released pictures of their latest sneaker addition, the Acapulco sneaker. While the sneaker isn’t a disaster it’s nothing to rave about either. And with a price tag that’s well over $500 you think LV would give you a little more bang for your buck.
The Acapulco sneaker is actually quite reminiscent of Nike’s Air Force One although it does look a little chunkier than Nike’s sneaker. The shapes are pretty similar and LV’s Acapulco sneaker also sports a Velcro strap.
|Ironically enough, although the sneaker is titled the “Acapulco” sneaker nothing about the sneaker reminds you of the colorful, lively city it’s named after. Of course I don’t expect palm tree graphics or emerald blue colors reminiscent of the ocean, but it could have used some tropical flair especially since it’s part of a spring/summer collection.
Instead the Acapulco sneaker comes in pretty basic colors: black, white, grey, and blue. Colors that are more reminiscent of a fall/winter line. On top of its lackluster characteristics the sneaker also sports a pretty hefty price tag, $645 to be exact.
