Lil Wayne, The Rapping Painter, Does Some Artistic Soul Searching With “Mirror” (Video Breakdown)

Forget about skateboarding, it looks like Lil Wayne's found himself another hobby to obsess over and that is painting. Okay, not really but he sure does a hell of a lot of it in his newest music video which is for his track with Bruno Mars, "Mirror." The video is definitely a bit different compared to most of Lil Wayne's videos, but I'm still trying to figure out if that's a good thing or a bad thing.



0:03 – Is that the Celine Dion, “Titanic” music I hear?

0:08 – Dear video director, we really don’t care about Lil Wayne’s tattoo’s like that so feel free to chill with the miniature tattoo montage.

0:16 – Was that a razor attached to his chain? Interesting...

1:11 – Is there a particular reason for all this paint? When the "Cherry Delight" paint color is out at Home Depot this week you know who to blame.

1:17 – When trying to be artsy goes terribly wrong...And by “terribly wrong” I mean “confusing as hell.”

1:44 – This is like a Bloody Mary massacre meets Beginners Art class.

2:05 – Lil Wayne really looks like a completely different person minus the shades or hipster glasses.

2:24 – So Lil Wayne made that masterpiece merely by throwing a bunch of paint around?

2:43 – He should have just drawn a caricature of Bruno Mars. That would have been a little more exciting to watch.

3:08 – If anything I’m sure Lil Wayne had fun throwing paint around during the filming of this video because I’m sure not having fun watching it.
