What’s Beef? Beef is When Lil Wayne Threatens to Kidnap Beyonce on “It’s Good” (Maybe)

Anytime a new Lil Wayne "Carter IV" track leaks people are going to talk, but they're really going to be talking about "It's Good". No, they won't be talking about Jadakiss' solid opening verse, or Drake's "calm down Aubrey, you're actually kind of cute when you act hard" second verse. No, they'll be talking about the (maybe) shots fired from Mr. Carter to Mr. Carter. That's Weezy to Jay-Z.

Quick rewind. In the midst of going "H.A.M." Hova, who let's be frank is the king of disses that are so subtle he can later claim they weren't disses, said, "Oh I’m like really half a billi n-gga / Really you got baby money / Keep it real with n-ggas / N-ggas aint got my lady money."

Most rationale people would assume that Jay was using "baby" as in "infant/small/etc." there, but the beef loving populace of hip-hop nation took it to be a direct shot at Cash Money CEO "Bird"man. (For the record, until this year Jay didn't have his lady money either.)

Inevitably, every Birdman and Lil Waybe interview for a month after "H.A.M." included a question about the diss, with Weezy eventually responding, "Me and my wit, given my wit, I would probably play off of it," Wayne explained. "But I wouldn't make it a competition, because actually, the subject that he's talking about in that line, I can't box with the card."

In other words, Wayne left the door open for a response. And then we get this starting at the 2:56 mark of "It's Good":

"Talk about baby money / I got your baby money / kidnap your bitch and get that 'how much you love your lady?' money ."

Um....whoa. If, and I want to emphasize the "if", that was directed at Jay, than Weezy just threatened to kidnap Beyonce. Now considering the background, and the "I got two Glock 40s / you'll have bout 80 problems" line right before, it's not completely crazy to think that was a shot fired at Hova, but would Wayne really take it that far? Really? Kidapping someone's family is just about as far as you could possibly take something.

There's no going back once you crossed that line; let's hope Wayne didn't actually cross it and comes out with a statement shortly clarifying. As much as I'd love to hear Jay and Wayne battle, this is the type of shit people get shot over. What's beef? This could be beef.
