Lil Wayne is “On Fire”, Someone Put Him Out (Listen & Download)Posted by Nathan S. on 12/04/09 | Filed under Downloads, Lil Wayne |

For the record, I've got no problem with Weezy doing the rock thing, I just have a problem with him not doing it well. If "On Fire" is any indication his biggest problem will have not been going full out. Cool & Dre, who produced this, are good producers, but they don't know rock. If Wayne had recruited someone like Rick Rubin he might have been able to pull it off, but my hopes are dim for this album now. I feel like "Rebirth" is going to go down in history as the Michael Jordan playing baseball portion of Wayne's career.
The good news is this gives us a unique opportunity to almost directly compare two elite rappers. Take a listen to Lupe's "Fire" - which isn't the same track but it's in the same ballpark - and tell me who did it better. I say Lupe, and it's not even that close.
To set yourself on fire right now, you know, if that sounds like something you'd like to do, listen to the track below.
