Video Breakdown: Lil Wayne Reaches New Heights In “6 Foot, 7 Foot”

Posted by Nathan S. on 03/08/11 | Filed under Top Stories, Features, Videos, Lil Wayne, Video Breakdown

Okay, Lil Wayne doesn’t really reach new heights in this music video. In fact, with his petite stature I really don’t think it’s even possible for Lil Wayne to reach new heights…but I digress. After numerous delays the video for Lil Wayne and Cory Gunz’ “6 Foot, 7 Foot” video was finally released late last week. The video, which was directed by the legendary Hype Williams, takes its cue from the movie "Inception", although I’m not quite sure if the video did the movie any justice. But it is worthy of a good ol’ fashioned Video Breakdown.

0:13 – Look! It’s Charlie Sheen!

0:17 – Okay, this guy is clearly not Charlie Sheen but he does look like he could have been an extra from an early 80’s Madonna video.

0:30 – So let me get this right…rappers are getting paid serious dough for second-long Ciroc cameos in their music videos while we’re left to buy the overpriced and overrated vodka at our local liquor store? Makes sense.

0:34 – Is there a reason why Lil Wayne is dressed like a Delta Airlines pilot?

1:09 - Unfortunately, the six-year-old watching this video now believes that “Honey Nut” is spelled “Huh-nee Knut.”

1:15 – Of course Lil Wayne would choose to race against a group of video chicks.

1:33 – That’s a lot of fur. Must be toasty.

1:49 – Note To Men Out There: Whispering sweet nothing’s into your own ear is still pretty gay.

2:02 – Okay, we get it DiverseHipHop.com. Now move evil subtitle, move!

2:17 – Ha! This scene kind of reminds me of the intro to The Game. Where’s Melanie?!

2:49 – Come on, you’re telling me Young Money couldn’t afford a better lasagna prop?

3:07 – This video is not doing "Inception" any justice. Who has Leo on speed dial?! He needs to know about this.

3:21 – Seeing all these Cory Gunz is giving me anxiety.

3:52 – So green screen.

3:55 – Okay, we need another Ciroc plug. No? How about Vitamin Water? Rappers like Vitamin Water, right?

4:03 – The background isn’t even moving! Come on.

4:22 – There’s the Ciroc! Wow. I was actually joking when I mentioned this video needing another Ciroc plug. Damn.

4:28- If you’re going to make a music video based on Inception (which was a pretty pimpin’ movie) you really need to go IN. This video just bi-lost.

lol. When I heard he used the Inception idea for the video, I expected more. It wasnt horrible, just that the movie was too good for this to be so simple lol

I mean the whole Inception theme sounded like a good idea. They just didn't implement it well. And I also find it hard to believe that Hype directed this.

And thanks Undadog.

You should check it out NJ_Static. It was a pretty good movie.

I might be the only one but I'd rather watch ALL OF THE LIGHTS, (Hold on let me get this right) in a IMAX theater (you seen those screens) in 3D. That's right, I'd rather die rather than watch this video again.

Poor Inception, somebody get Nolan so he can cast Wayne as a bouncer or something for TDKR

I absolutely loved how retarded this vid is. I didn't have high expectations, considering the best Wayne vid I've ever seen was him standing on a damn stretch hummer or whatever it was. It's Lil Wayne, dude. Did you really expect any better?

Wait, why is he dressed like an Admiral in the beginning? I can't be the only one who thinks that's weird.

Shout out to Cory Gunz' mustache.

I could be wrong here, but I believe he's dressed like that cause around that time is when he says the "Young Money militia..." line. That's the best I could think of, especially since he's standing behind a group of people who may or may not be the YM folks. (IDK what they look like)
