If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times: the West Coast is on its way back up, and with new artists like
Kida leading the charge, it won't be long before Cali returns to the national spotlight it enjoyed in the mid-90s. Need proof? Look no further than Kida's new "
The Endemic" mixtape. Presented by DJ Skee & a.Fam Entertainment, "The Endemic" was a labor of love between Kida and executive producer
TheRealFocus…, who pushed each other to make something great, not just good. With original production from Focus,
9th Wonder, DJ Khalil, !llmind, Jake One, Mell & D, Seige, and
Wyldfyer, I'd say mission accomplished.
By the way, "endemic" means both any trait or characteristic belonging to the people of a geographical area, or an illness that contained entirely within a group of people (the opposite of a "epidemic"). So which definition did Kida have in mind when he named the mixtape? We'll have to ask him.
