In the flurry of new high-profile material from Drake, Eminem, etc. I thought it'd be good to take step back and give some shine to some lesser known but equally dope artists. In that spirit please allow me to introduce Kid Cut Up, a Milwaukee DJ/Producer/Mash-up Master that the homey JC Poppe just turned me onto. These days just about anyone with a computer can do a mash-up, but it takes a truly talented man to put together two songs seamlessly that also simultaneously comment on each other - a truly talented man like Cut Up.
But enough with the rambling, let's get to the specifics. Today Cut Up rolled out a new mix that mashes Ice Cube's classic "It Was a Good Day" (which is constantly and incorrectly referred to as "Today Was a Good Day") with the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge" to create "Good Day Under the Bridge". It took this mash-up for me to realize how much two legendary L.A. artists had in common, I highly recommend you check it out too.
