Kid Cudi, Wale, Rare Beef & Other Assorted D-BaggeryPosted by Jacques "Jooks" Morel on 09/22/10 | Filed under Features, Kid Cudi, Wale, Beef, Jacques "Jooks" Morel |

I mean, many artists seem to have inflated opinions of themselves from the jump – most of the time those artists just get punched in the eye.
I digress.
I feel as if a certain level of success has to amend the douchebaggery. Kanye is a douche…however he made a song about it and it is a hit – so we tolerate it. Hip Hop fans read Cudi’s comments and it was the talk of Twitter for an entire morning. Cudi’s album was a hit amongst his fans – if you aren’t a fan it makes a great coaster.
I understand the dislike of rash comments from a rapper that cannot back much of it up on paper – the inflated ego seems insignificant here. While his jab at Wale CLEARLY is not a marketing plot (if it was he would’ve said it over Twitter…or on TV), it does make an interesting deal. It is interesting where this B.S will go - we all know where it will end up – the toilet.
A beef between the two is a pointless blip on the radar. Wale said in an interview that he was going to address Cudi, and his tweets played into that too. Wale could be compared to Mario going against Little Bowser and Bowser. While Little Bowser could be perceived as small and insignificant - Kanye is not. Cudi did drop ‘Ye’s name in this interview which implicates Bowser himself.
While Wale (and his fans) might feel the need to attack Cudi for what he said, I do not think he should. Let’s be real…Wale is doing great things (I’m not a huge fan, but I pay attention) but Cudi is on the serious upswing and ‘Ye is putting out classic after classic.
Essentially I feel that Cudi went at Wale from an impenetrable fortress - called G.O.O.D music - Wale could be just chucking rocks at the throne. On paper it could be a better diss record overall - but success trumps all – ‘Ye is on the verge of it again. Which damn near means Cudi is close.
My advice? Wale? Cudi? Don’t take my advice – just drop the whole thing. Beef is soooo ’96. Let the 25+’s reminisce about it. I’m going to go download this music…
