Kid Cudi Proclaims His “Mojo So Dope” (Listen & Download)

Kid Cudi
We have to at least accept the possibility that Kid Cudi's new album "Man on the Moon: The Legend of Mr. Rager" won't be very good, right? The biggest appeal of "Man on the Moon" was Cudi's outsider status, but no matter how much he may try to convince us otherwise, he's an insider now, living a lifestyle complete with groupie sex and a coke habit, and the sound that seemed so daringly original a few years ago is now becoming comfortably familiar.

What I'm saying is, his last track "Erase Me" was good but certainly not great, the lead single "RevOfEv" felt boring and his latest offering, "Mojo So Dope" feels forgettable to be too. Cudi's cadence and flow, the slow drums, the hazy background, it feels like "been there, done that," except the hook's not very good at all. There's no hate here, just....boredom. I don't know, maybe I should be high. Maybe that would help.

(Side note: In one of the more random moves I've ever seen, some site called YoungMoneyHD.com premiered this track off their "Biggy Jiggy Lime Lights" mixtape today. What the fuck's a Biggy Jiggy mixtape, and how did they get these songs? I have no idea either, but amongst a host of garbage, there are a few more interesting exclusives from J. Cole, Rick Ross and a few others. You can see the full tracklist here here, or just download the mixtape directly right now here. Choose your own adventure.)

being a big time Cudi fan, i have high hopes and expectations for this album. however, i am coming to the realization that it might not be very good. im not impressed with the 3 releases/leaks or watever so far. if u compare these 3 songs to the 3 singles off his last album, its not even close. still, i havent given up on the album yet. this is only 3 songs so thats what im gunna take it for is 3 songs.

also, i think this is my fav so far out of the three. i think its pretty sick.

Idk theres a lot of smokers out there who are yet to mature. I'm sure MOTM2 won't be as successful as the first so maybe he needs to find a new spotlight to step in. Kanye will need to help him with that though.

I actually liked this song. Once I stopped listening to the lyrics, and started listening to the overall vibe, it wasn't half bad.

I liked the overall vibe of this song. I liked the production and cudi's vocals. But I see Nathan's point. It sounds a little dull, it seems to have a sort of "been there, done that" quality to it. It's still going on my ipod though.

For the record, I've got no hate for this song, it's just...eh. That's it, just...eh. For all I know Cudi's got some incredibly dope material on the way, but I have yet to get excited about anything off Rager so far.

And props to Halt for the backhanded compliment of the year: "Once I stopped listening to the lyrics, and started listening to the overall vibe, it wasn't half bad."
