Knowing that this is a Kid Cudi song it was probably a tad unrealistic to think that "Dennis Hook Me Up With Some More Of That Whiskey" was an ode to Cudi's favorite bartender. Instead this song sounds more like Cudi is sharing all his woes with some random, whiskey-slinging bartender. Yes, emo Kid Cudi is highly present on this one. But at least he's kept it slightly humorous with that song title.

On top of his somewhat depressing verses Kid Cudi also provides "Dennis Hook Me Up With Some More Of That Whiskey" with its production. And for me the production is the most enjoyable part of the song although I do think that the random sound bites are a little on the annoying side. With the addition of the violins the beat is surprisingly mellow. This song would be perfect if Cudi were able to tone down on the whining just a little bit.
