Two months ago Kendrick "everyone pretty much agrees he's the best young rapper alive" Lamar paused his NYC show to play a snippet of Busta "Mr. Cash Money" Rhymes jumping on the remix to his fast flowing cut "Rigamortis". Considering how much I dig every second on "#Section80", and how inconsistent Busta's been lately - you never know if you're going to get "Arab Money" or "Worldwide Choppers" these days - I was more than a little wary, and I know I'm not alone.
You can go ahead and exhale. While it's not the "oh shit, Busta's back!!!" verse that I imagined in my hopeful moments (for example his "Choppers" verse was better), Busta legitimately killed this shit. Not only do we get some of that vintage quadruple time flow, especially starting at the, but Busta becomes the first rapper in history to rhyme "schrimp scampi" with former New York Governor Pataki. I salute you sir.
On a side note, imagine being Kendrick and hearing someone like Busta rhyme on your shit. That's got to be the weirdest/dopest feeling.
