Kam Moye and Marco Polo Stay “Forever Fresh” (Video)

Posted by Nathan S. on 02/08/10 | Filed under Features, Videos, Kam Moye

No matter how crazy their style is, some rappers' flows inevitably get stale and tired (Nicki Minaj anyone?). Not Kam Moye. The N.C. emcee's been wielding a sick mic for years and today's he's dropped "Forever Fresh", the second single off his "Splitting Image" album and featuring production from Marco Polo that I've played about five times in a row. Fresher than a Ziploc son.

The Refined Take:

1) It's good to see Kam repping for North Carolina, a state that, Petey Pablo's helicopter related anthem aside, hasn't gotten much love. Additional shout outs to Anthony Hamilton, 9th Wonder, George Clinton and every other musician who's made N. Carolina the birthplace of good music.

2) I once interviewed Marco Polo (good guy by the way) and he had to stop halfway through to make a coffee and cigarettes run. I'm just saying, it's not a coincidence that nearly every time we see Marco he's lighting up; that dude smokes so much he makes the Marlboro man look like an Olympic athlete.

3) How much, you may ask, is "the minimum wage of Dennis Quaid"? According to IMDB the man rakes in about $6 million a year. So if Kam's making Dennis Quaid money he's doin pretty damn well.

4) Regular readers know I've been on a sports team loyalty kick lately, but I can't get a clean read on Kam. Is that a Phillies hat he's rocking? And if so, is that allowed? On the NBA top he should be rolling with the Bobcats, but what MLB team do N.C. residents roots for? I may have to give him the Phillies here.

5) If you're digging "Forever Fresh", and you really should be, you can pick up a copy of Kam's new album "Splitting Image" here.
