Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you, and just because Brooklyn emcee K. Sparks thinks everyone's watching him doesn't mean he's crazy. In fact, given his prodigious lyrical output, it's pretty damn reasonable. On his latest single "Watching Me", off his "A Day in the Life" album (you can download an album sampler here), Sparks is joined by fellow microphone fiend Chris Young and Julius Francis on the hook for an ode to the highlights (and low lights) of life for an aspiring rap star.
By the way, big props to K. Sparks for announcing his second verse: "I'm gonna rhyme about food." I wish more emcees gave us a preview of what was coming up, although after the 357th time Snoop said, "This verse is about weed and booty" I guess it'd start losing its meaning.
As an added bonus, HiPNOTT Records is running a producer remix contest. In short, whoever drops the best "Watching Me" remix will be able to remix the entire album. I'll let the man himself explain more. Download links are below the video.
If you want to join the remix contest, download the acapella version below. Then remix the fuck out of it and submit it by March 19. More details here.
