I'm lucky enough to be able to do this rap thing full time, but in the end I'm really still just a fan. That's why when I got the chance to drop into the legendary Stankonia Studios (the home of Outkast) when I was down in ATL for the A3C Music Festival I just about wet my pants in excitement. Hey, I said "almost".
During the few hours I was at Stankonia a revolving door of dope artists rolled through to record the "Stankonia Sessions" project, and now we finally get the hear the first fruits of those labors in the dope "Heaven's Door". Producers The Royal Flush manage to put together a beat that's simultaneously banging and mellowed out, while Justus League member Joe Scudda, my fellow Boston representer Termanology and rap terminator Jon Connor wax philosophical on their earthly sins and heavenly aspirations. I can go all day with this shit.
Look out for more leaks to drop ahead of the full "Stankonia Sessions" project, also presented by our homies at SMKA, to drop via Grooveshark.com in mid-November.
Stream and download link are below the trailer for the project. Enjoy:
