No one in hip-hop is as self-obsessed as Joe Budden, and in a rap culture this narcissitic, that's really saying something. Luckily the dude you do not want to follow on Twitter also happens to be one of the best emcees breathing, so when he decides to drop a nine-minute song, like today's somewhat ironically titled "Short Summer", hip-hop heads listen to every word.

So consider yourself warned. If you decide to press play on "Short Summer" you're in it for the long haul, but you'll be treated to "oh shit!" lines like "It can't be all good / so I just kill em with the car...Brandy Norwood." (I you don't get the reference, click here.) Plus Budden drops one of the best NBA sections I've heard in a minute: "I tried to make you get the point, but you was Chris Duhon / so where's Ray Felton when you need him? / with my back against the wall I ain't never got played / Lebron was the king until that pressure got Wade/weighed." Goddamn. That's all. Just goddamn.

Oh yeah. The beat's provided by Beewirks and the hook's by Emanny. "Short Summer" is the first leak off Budden's legitimately anticipated "Mook Muzik 4" mixtape, due out sometime later than today. Knowing Budden, that means it might not come out for another decade.
