One listen to Jamie Foxx' new single, "Best Night of My Life", and it's clear that Wiz Khalifa wasn't chosen to drop a guest verse for musical reasons. Oh, Wiz is fine, but the Khalifa man on a smoothed out, R&B joint like this makes about as much sense as Memphis Bleek in a shampoo commercial. (Wait, that happened?) So why is Wiz on this track?

Here's how I picture it going down:

Jamie Foxx's manager: I'm sorry Jamie, but your upcoming album "Body" just isn't catching on. Franky it already has the faint stench of failure attached to it. Why don't we rename the album and start all over again? Maybe people won't even remember that atrocious song with Gucci Mane.

Jamie Foxx: Hmmmm.....I like it. We'll rename the album "Best Night of My Life", done deal. But what are we going to do about the lack of a hit single?

Manager: Fuck it. We'll just do what ever aging artist does whose looking to be relevant again - get a hot young star for a guest feature. We already grabbed Drake...um....what about Wiz Khalifa? Everyone seems to love him right now.

Foxx: But what are we going to put him on? It's not like I have a weed record.

Manager: Like I said, fuck it. We'll just stick him on anything. How about the title track? The important thing is that sites will post the song if we get him, and then maybe people will actually care about the album.

Foxx: Let's do it.

And....scene. And yes, I'm aware that I spend way too much time thinking about these things. It's a fine track, whatever. It actually says much more about how popular Wiz is right now than anything about Jamie. For those who now remotely care, "Best Night of My Life", the album, is due to drop on December, 21.
