XV Remixes J. Cole’s “Lights, Please” (Listen & Download)

If I had to pick two artists that were destined to blow everyone's favorite unsigned hype XV and the future of Roc Nation J. Cole would be at the top of my list, so when the two join forces? Forget it. Determined to show that his work behind the boards is just as dope as his mic skills, XV (a.k.a. Vizzy) has remixed J. Cole's "Lights, Please", giving the track a more soulful feel that - for my money - fits the mood of J. Cole's lyrics much better than the original (a controversial statement considering Cole himself produced the original).

On a side note, I read Cole's lyrics as a reflection on the classic "This girl is super hot but dumber than a can of paint...I don't think I can be in a relationship with her...but on the other hand, she is super hot...goddamnit" dilemma, a problem that has vexed mankind since the dawn of time. It's good to know some things never change .
