From Hit-Boy to ¡MAYDAY!, Every Dope Album That Dropped TodayPosted by Nathan S. on 08/07/12 | Filed under Downloads, Mixtapes, Mayday, Mike Dreams, Hit-Boy, Jeremih |

I've been doing this rap interwebs thing for a while and I'm hard pressed to think of another Tuesday that featured so many noteworthy albums. In addition to major label back projects from Hit-Boy and Jeremih, there were a ton of dope indie releases as well.
So fuck it, here's all of them. Who am I to discriminate? I'll just let you pick and choose and you'd like. Enjoy...

I know it's tempting to call him the "next Kanye" given the cicrumstances, but let's not get carried away. Still, can't deny talent like this, and guest spots from Big Sean, Bun B, Chip Tha Ripper, Kid CuDi and John Legend definitely don't hurt.

Ever so often you just want some of that catchy R&B, and Jeremih's getting closer to transitioning from go-to hook man to to solo star. Oh yeah, and that "Go to the Mo" video was the greatest of all-time, so he's got that going for him.

Let's switch things up and dig into the underground. My fellow rap nerds already know all about AWAR, but those who are brand new should be sucked in by guest verses from Evidence, Has-Lo MURS and more. Rap nerds unite.

This ones for all the Strange Music supporters I know make up a large portion of RefinedHype Nation. The Miami collective never fails to deliver some dopeness, and "Thrift Store Halos" is no different.

Man, I remember the days when Mike Dreams was writing for RefinedHype, and now he's emerging as an artist making some serious "mainstream feel with an underground intelligence" music. He keeps getting better with every release; not much else you can ask for.

This one's for my real rap nerds (unite!). If you already know that Focus... is a Grammy Award winner who was Dr. Dre's right hand Aftermath production man for a minute, then you're already listening. And if you didn't, then perhaps Slum Village and Rapper Big Pooh verses will.
