By now I’m sure we’re all very familiar with Apple’s catchy “There’s an app for that” slogan and quite frankly there really are iPhone/iPod Touch applications for just about anything. Recently, Apple has branched out into the world of Hip Hop with a number of Hip Hop-friendly applications. While some of them are of course bogus there are definitely a few gems among them. RefinedHype.com highlights three iPhone app’s Hip Hop lovers must have.

UrbanWorld

UrbanWorld’s iPhone app gives you an impressive array of Hip Hop content in the palm of your hand. UrbanWorld’s app consists of Hip Hop/R&B news, music videos, music, pictures, and more. The app is also available for Blackberry and Android phones.

iSamJackson

This of course isn’t an app based on Hip Hop or music at all for that matter. But chances are if you’re a fan of Hip Hop then you’re definitely a fan of actor Samuel L. Jackson (a.k.a “The Man”). This new app allows you to access a number of classic Sam Jackson quotes and it also gives you the option of receiving advice from Sam Jackson himself (pre-recorded, of course).

Freestyle

For all you aspiring rappers out there Freestyle is the perfect app for your on the go, “can’t quite afford studio time yet” lifestyle. With Freestyle you can write and then record your songs to original beats. The Freestyle App comes equipped with notepad, a microphone, a rhyming dictionary, and a sound bank with original beats. And as an added bonus Freestyle has been given the thumbs up by a number of rappers including Senor Kaos and Ilyas, Don Will, and Von Pea of Tanya Morgan.
