Weekend Edition: RefinedHype's most popular pieces of the week, running from Saturday to Monday morning.

Believe it or not I can actually relate to artists who scroll through the comment sections of sites that post their music and read some outright hatred. Anyone that puts themselves out there on the interwebs enough will attract some crazies, and lord knows that between RefinedHype and the mothership I've got plenty of material out there to spark your rage.

So yeah, I get my fair share of hate too. I learned a long time ago to just ignore most of it, as a general rule arguing with people who hate you is a waste of time, and if I can dish out criticism I have to take it, but some hate mail is actually pretty entertaining in its own right. So I figured why not share a little sampler in a Hate Mailbag, a collection of some of my favorite hate via email/Twitter/Facebook over the last couple months. Enjoy, and keep the hate mail coming!:

The good side of being part of the "mainstream media" though is that I get paid $10K every time I write about Lady Gaga, which is why you'll see so many Lady Gaga posts here. Let me tell you, being part of the mainstream media ain't cheap, I got bills to pay. My head gardener keeps insisting he needs more staff to keep my 20 acre estate immaculate. That shit adds up fast.

I'm not actually sure what that means, but my best guess is that I'm a hater. I'm actually far more interested in this as a work of linquistic creativity. Goddamn, is this some sort of special language you've invented with your twin sister?

I understand writing in shorthand or phonetically, but she's actually going through more work to write extra letters and adding syllables. It wouldn't have ever even occurred to me to spell "about" like "BOUDD". I'm actually kind of impressed.

Awww, thanks, I hate you too. What always surprises me about comments like this is just how angry folks get. How are you that angry about something a stranger wrote about an artist who has no idea you exist?

Or is is that you're disappointed in your actual life and live vicariously through celebrities like Chris Brown, so when I criticizing him it feels like I'm not also criticizing you, but criticizing everything you want to be? Like I'm criticizing your very dreams?

Um....is this comment an effing/fucking joke? I'm perfectly willing to allow some space for different strokes for different folks, but if you think I'm a joke for preferring "#Section80" to "Carter III" we're just not on the same planet.
