Considering that Gucci Mane's gotten more media attention lately than the swine flu I spend most of today avoiding posting this, but in the end the comic potential was just too high for to to hold off any longer. So without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Gucci's official video for "Spotlight" featuring Usher. Enjoy.
1) If we learn anything from this video it's that Gucci's not a very good actor. That might be one of the least convincing "I'm so distraught after breaking up with my girl" performances I've seen since Levi Johnston had to pretend he was upset about breaking up with Bristol Palin. And when Usher says the only cure for a broken heart is to get out and party, he knows what he's talking about.
2) I love how Usher has taken to calling himself "Ursher" after Ludacris refused to call him anything else for a solid two years. That's how all great nicknames get started: someone says something dumb and it gets repeated until finally you're like, "fine, my name's Ursher. Happy?"
3) Speaking of which, apparently Usher Raymond's not having any second thoughts about signing those divorce papers. He may have a baby at home, but the man's basically dry-humping some chicks face throughout most of the video (see 3:50). Ah, the sweet smell of freedom.
4) What "club" is this video supposed to be shot in? It looks more like a 80s prom. I keep expecting Flock of Seagulls to jump onstage and start playing "I Ran "So Far Away"). I'm just saying, no club I've been to in the last ten years has a disco ball that big.
5) With all this said, I have to admit this is probably my favorite Gucci track out right now (and lord knows I've got a lot to choose from). It's my guilty pleasure, and if it's yours too you can download it here.
