There's always such a Twitter/big booty models/police fueled drama surrounding Joe Budden that sometimes it's easy to see through the fog and remember that he's legitimately one of the most talented lyricists alive. In fact, I feel like I'm caught in a bit of a cycle with Mr. Budden. He drops some dope shit, I'm like "Oh yeah, Budden's dope", then he gets caught up in craziness, I start to forget about him as a rapper, then he drops some dope shit and I'm like "Oh yeah, Budden's dope."

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Right now Joey's new "Going Thru the Motions" has me stuck on the "Oh yeah, he's dope" phase of the cycle. Seriously, think about it. This is essentially an average record for the Slaughterhouse alum, which means his average is better than 95% of the game. No doubt about it, when the man just focuses on that microphone, there aren't many who can do it better.

"Motions" is a bonus cut off the upcoming "Mood Muzik: The Box Set" release, due to drop on May 15. Enjoy.
