You know how you can tell I'm really digging a track? I suddenly develop rap Tourettes. For example, holy shit balls fuck this new
Gods'illa ft.
Sean Price cut, "
Saviours & Punishers" is dope. I know, not exactly Shakespearean, but some tracks just make a man swear.
I've been working with God'Illa, aka emcees
Acem, Truth and
Powerful, for a minute now over on
the mothership, but "Saviours" is (obviously) the cut that's got me juiced enough to bring 'em over to RefinedHype Nation. First off, that beat by
Joe D is a perfect blend of boom-bap and experimental sampling. Second, this is some of that underground rap lyricism I came up on, and that's making an increasingly large comeback. And last but not least, you can never go wrong with a Sean Price verse. You just can't.
If you're digging this, and frankly if you're not I'll be confused, you can cop Gods'Illa's new project, "CPR Blend Tape", hosted by Erykah Badu, right about
here.
"Back to that Timbaland rap / so tie your hoodies up."
