They say there's no such thing as bad publicity, and in
GhostWridah's case, that's true. I first became aware of the Miami emcee after my homeboy DJ Z over at DJBooth.net got caught up in some
drama between Ghost and Don Cannon over Ghost's single "Red Bottoms". While I by no means think Ghost stirred up that controversy on purpose, it did have two effects: one, I listened to "Red Bottoms" and thought it was pretty damn good and two, I'm now on the lookout for more from the man.
Well, today more came in the form of his new "
Just Begun (Freestyle)", a joint that finds him flexing his lyrical dexterity over Reflection Eternal's brand new but classic sounding beat. I like the man's flow, I really do, but he needs to be careful about thinking he's made it. I can't begin to tell you how many artists I've seen think they've finally arrived, and then realized that their struggle to acheive success had only just begun. See what I did there? *Applause*
"Just Begun (Freestyle)" is the first leak off Wridah's upcoming mixtape "The House Fire", coming soon.
