GhostWridah x STS x Sean Falyon Are Rap’s “Future Presidents” (Listen & Download)

Ghostwridah STS Sean Falyon Future Presidents
What’s changed in the game since ‘96, when an enterprising young emcee by the name of Shawn Carter announced (in the words of his Big Apple neighbor, Nas), “I’m out for dead presidents to represent me”? Judging by "Future Presidents", a newly-reworked version of the classic cut by a trio of favorites, the answer is “everything and nothing”.

While rap hopefuls like Miami’s Ghostwridah and Philly reppers STS and Sean Falyon have to grind as hard as ever to make ends meet, the successes of those who preceded them have inspired newcomers to aim for higher plateaus than ever before. Producer Rem strikes a fitting balance between old and new on the production tip, cooking up an ambient, synth-laced take of Ski‘s moody instrumental as the freestyle series alumni share their insights on the hustle. The result, as I think you’ll agree, is simply too dope to be confined to one project – which is why it’ll be appearing on three: Falyon’s "SFBE2: West Philly to the World", ‘Wridah’s "Angels & Demons" and a yet-untitled set by STS.

By the way, considering we've been premiering Ghost's new freestyles and Falyon is a My City vet, RefinedHype's been negilent in working with one of Philly's dopest new rappers, STS. Our bad. Things are gonna change in the "amount STS is featured around these parts" category in 2011.

Good to hear STS will get more exposure around here. He's one of my favorite new rappers. And if Demand More 2 wasn't good enough, the fact that Black Thought is his co-signer should get him looks.

Personally, the lyrics didn't really hit me like I expected, but the beat made me hear the whole song. That beat was smooth and perfectly made in my opinion. I still think Jay-Z should have done a remake to the classic and feature his up and comer (J.Cole) to add a new verse as well, so that it seems more like a 'pass-the-baton' and more people would hear J.Cole.
But I have a crazy imagination and we can dream...

Forgot to say, this beat would've been perfect had they done my dream idea for a song. And they should have a 32 bar Jay-Z verse, a 12 bar Jay-Z verse, and then a 64 bar J.Cole verse.
Man I dream too much...Anyone feel me?
