Raptor (rapper/actor) Childish Gambino may not have everything (a barber, t-shirts that fit, a role in "The Amazing Spider-Man"...he was robbed!), but if there's one thing he does have it's energy. So I was a little caught off guard upon first hearing his latest release, "Shoulda Known." "Shoulda Known" is a mellow, chill tune that lacks Gambino's usual over the top energy. Now this isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I find the laidback vibe of "Shoulda Known" kinda welcoming.

With "Shoulda Known" Gambino will likely gain a bit of mainstream acceptance and the song is nice lyrically so I'm sure die hard fans will still be on board with this one as well. All in all this song is a win-win for Gambino.
